| Winchester Voluntary Newspaper Recycling Drive We are promoting a Voluntary Newspaper Recycling Drive in Winchester. The goal of this effort will be to strengthen our sense of community and promote recycling awareness, while effectively reducing the amount of municipal solid waste tonnage that Winchester sends to Wheelabrator North Andover. If removed from our waste stream, every ton collected could save the Town of Winchester approximately $81.00 (spent on tipping fees and hauling expenses) and could potentially minimize residential user fees over time. We are currently enlisting households in Winchester willing to donate their newspapers (subscribers) and also people (volunteers) willing donate their time and energy to assist in picking up donated newspapers. In short, subscribers will agree to save their newspapers and place them in secure bundles at their curb sides on a designated pick-up date. The actual pick-up date will not occur until September (date to be announced later). All newspapers will be picked-up by volunteers and will be free of charge. The newspaper drive is for Winchester residents only. Are you interested in donating your newspapers or donating your time to assist in picking up newspapers?
